Weeks 24 and 25 Monday April 5, 2021
Hey everybody! So sorry I didn't write last week, I completelt ran out of time on monday, so today I have some extra highlights to fill you all in on. And some exciting stuff for sure!
To start, I have finally gotten some more info about Costa Rica! The church is beginning to send missionaries back to latin America, and I talked with my mission president this week and he said he was working on my papers, so I am thinking that I will end up down there by the end of May! More good news, he said I will most likely get to stay in Santa Clarita until I leave, which was another thing to be excited about. Our area is really moving along, and I am enjoying life down here, so hopefully I don't have to move before I leave the country!
This week during service the radio was playing, but our service coordinator picked a different station, and we heard my favorite song in the world. The lumineers have never sounded so good. You are a real one if you know what song I am talking about. Definitely made me just a little bit sad but I have missed them these last few months.
We have also returned to having in person events! This week we had in person interviews, zone conference, and combined district council, it was so much fun. Zone conference was especially awesome with the mission president coming down from Bakersfield for a few hours. Another highlight of lifted restrictions is we are now allowes to knock as many doors as we want, so we find a lot more reasons to spend time outside of the apartment. We still don't go around randomly, but we can knock specific doors all we want. Truly a blessing!
This week conference was incredible, here are some of my highlights:
- President Uchtdorfs talk: don't let your trials define you, let them refine you!
- President Nelson Saturday Night: look back on all we have learned over the past few years!
- President Eyering: Temples are so important! 20 new ones?! Shoutout to Grand Junction Colorado! That had me so excited!
Also worth mentioning, on Saturday we celebrated conference with an apartment trip to Panda Express. Then the member that fed us had similar plans for Dinner. No complaints tho!
Above all, I hope everyone was able to have an enjoyable, spiritual Easter. This year I loved to reflect on how because of the resurrection, the sting of loss is only temporary. We will all overcome our greatest obstacle and become perfected because of Jesus Christ. So so much hope in this.
Thanks for reading the long one day, enjoy your week!
