Happy Monday!
We had a great last week of the transfer out her in Delano and had a bunch of fun celebrating everything. Some highlights from the week:
-went to get tacos as a district after district council on Friday. Still can't eat in restaurants or together, but close enough haha, so we took the tacos back to the apartment.
-friday afternoon a member from the ward invited us over and gave us a Spanish rice cooking tutorial. Shared some crazy stories as well and sent us home with enough rice to feed us for a month.
-We were walking around one afternoon, and I saw a bunch of people in their garage talking, so from the sidewalk I just said how's it going? And then my comp nudged me and we realized they were having a funeral. Oops
-the sister missionaries had a baptism Saturday, so we all got to go to that! Baptisms are the best!
-on Saturday night, to celebrate elder braithwaite going home on Wednesday, we all went to a Chinese buffet. Expectations were low and then far exceeded. Great final feast.
-staying in Delano!
So we had a bunch of fun this week, really going to miss all the good times from this transfer.
This week I was reading in 3rd Nephi chapter 10, and loved this scripture. In 3rd Nephi, Jesus Christ visits the people of the Book of Mormon after his resurrection in Jerusalem, and establishes his church. Shortly before he comes the people had been greatly suffering from natural tragedies, but when they turn their focus on the coming of the Savior, everything changes...
10 And the earth did cleave together again, that it stood; and the mourning, and the weeping, and the wailing of the people who were spared alive did cease; and their mourning was turned into joy, and their lamentations into the praise and thanksgiving unto the Lord Jesus Christ, their Redeemer
I know this is so true! Focussing on the Savior brings joy in any situation!
Thanks so much for reading and have an awesome week!
