Mon, Jun 21, 2021, 6:04 PM to me Hey everyone! Shorter email this week, just wanted to share a thought. Yesterday we sung Lord I would follow thee in our English program, a hymn, and then in Spanish we sang señor te sequiré which has a slightly different meaning. It directly translates to Lord, I will follow thee. Growing up singing this hymn, I always wondered why we say would. We say would because we are presented with various opportunities throughout our life to choose to follow him, but those opportunities are in the future and unknown, hence "would follow thee." However the Spanish version really stuck home with me. We know these opportunities to choose to follow the Lord will come, and we can choose know that we will follow him. So ask yourself, "would I?" On Saturday night, Yolanda accepted an invitation to be baptized, and we are so excited for her. I have just been getting to know her over my two weeks in this area, but she is such a kind women with a strong desire to find more strength and comfort in her life, and baptism is such an awesome opportunity for her to find that. We can't wait to see how her life changes for the better as she takes this step to allow Christ to be the most powerful influence in her life. This week I have been settling into the new apartment, and here are some of the funny things going on so far: -The kitchen is always way too full during lunch and dinner with all 4 of us trying to get around -The apartment was pretty light at night, so we squished some cardboard over a window to block it out, looks horrible and works great -We like to through the foot...

Week 1 MTC-September 2, 2020

Wed, Sep 2, 2020, 7:11 PM Hey everybody! I'm super excited to share a couple things from my first week in the CCM, the missionary training center, in Mexico city. Even though the experience is all online and a lot different than I had planned, there are definitely some great perks to being at home. I get to watch my brother's tennis matches, be with family, and I don't have to say goodbye to Chipotle. Most of my days look pretty similar, starting at 6:30 when I wake up, exercise, have breakfast, and prepare for the day. After that I have morning class, followed by personal, companion, and language studies. Almost all of my structured time is spent on zoom with my companion and/or district, and it has been super fun to get to know them! I wrap up with my afternoon class around 7, and then get to spend a lot of time with my family which has been a great blessing unique to the online mtc.
