Week 56-September 20, 2021

Week 56 Mon, Sep 20, 2021, 3:01 PM Hope you all had an awesome week! Things were awesome here in Delano. On Wednesday I had an exchange with my good buddy elder Szmyanscki, and we got to stay here in Delano while elder Martinez headed down to McFarland. That was an awesome day. We had a lesson in the afternoon with a family we had taken food to in the past as a donation, and they weren't interested at all, but this time we went and things were different. We made it clear we aren't the church of Mormon, but the same church of Jesus Christ, and they loved our message so we started teaching them! Then after that, we hustled off to earlimart and had a lesson with our buddy angel. He is 17, and recently lost most of his hand in a firework accident, and is really a humble kid. We had a great lesson and invited him to be baptized on October 9th! Super excited for him. Then on Thursday, Elder Martinez and I were put back into a trio, and our new comp Elder Bishop is a beast. We have had a ton of fun together these last few days. Elder Martinez and I became experts on where the scariest dogs were (behind fences), so we messed with him a bit, walked by them, and had some good laughs. Friday and Saturday we were getting Jonathan ready for baptism, and inviting a bunch of the members to come and see. Saturday at 12 we had Jonathan's baptism! Well, it was scheduled for 12. Our bishopric representative (ward member in charge) may have forgotten, so it was just a little stressful haha. But we got started within half an hour of on time, and then had the longest baptism I have ever been to as all of speakers talked for at least 10 or 15 minutes. Things just run a little differently here in Delano and I love it. But even with those small differences, the most important things, and unchanging, was the baptism and the confirmation. At baptism, sins are washed away and we can become new person as we covenant to be like Jesus Christ, and at confirmation we recieve the gift of the holy Ghost. I got to baptize Jonathan, and then Miguel confirmed him. Such a special day. Yesterday at church we had a bunch of our friends show up! Filled up a whole row with me, my comps, angel, Jonathan and his brothers, Skyler, and Miguel. Felt like the dream team. Some unforgettable memories with them all. Great week here in Delano!! Thanks so much for reading! Oh and I moved to Costa Rica Elder Easton
