Week 37-July 5, 2021

Mon, Jul 5, 2021, 9:01 AM to me I realized this week, I was always so sad growing up when July 1st hit because it feels like school is suddenly just so close, but that definitely something to celebrate out here on the mission that I don't have to worry about that this year haha! We had a great week this week, super busy teaching lessons all over the place. On Thursday we had a Lesson with the meza Castro family, a couple that are our strongest friends, closest to joining the church, and we brought the morales family along. After the lesson they picked about a hundred apricots off the tree in their front yard. Dont remember ever trying apricots besides the dried ones, and they were awesome, so that was a big score. For dinner on saturday, the member that fed us made a Costa Rican meal after I told her about my original assignments, and I was pumped to see some fried plantains. Looking forward to more of that! We had some fun service opportunities this week as well. with the fourth of july coming up one of our friends on the city council invited us to come set up a fire work stand, and we got permission which was somewhat surprising, so we got to go set up a bunch of fireworks. However after learning a little bit about fireworks from my little brother and his friends, whoever was buying these was just paying for a package, arial fireworks are completely illegal here in California. Doesnt mean people don't do them, so we got to see plenty go up as we were working saturday and sunday night. Love the 4th of July! This week I loved this scripture from the Book of Mormon - 2nd Nephi 19:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. I love all these names for the Savior! Think of which one is the most special to you. I love prince of Peace and counselor. Things are good here in Delano! Hope you all are doing well and have an awesome week! Elder Easton
