Week 32

Mon, May 31, 2021, 9:00 AM Hey everybody! Happy memorial day! I didn't find out that is was memorial day weekend until Saturday, I had completely forgotten and thats just how it is as a missionary, but we decided we would all take the day off from 8-6 to have a good holiday. That is the exact same time we take off every week on Mondays, but today it will feel a little extra special. Had a really funny experience this week. We recieved a referral for somebody that wanted to learn more that lives way out in the fields, so we drove out and found a small lot with some scrap wood, a largish building in the middle, and a small mobile home in the corner. We knocked the mobile home, and nobody answered, so we went to the building in the middle. It seemed like an office building of sorts, but it had the same address as the house, so we figured we'd knock it as well. We went on the side and found a door, and I knocked, and it came open a little bit, so we yelled out to see if anybody was inside not wanting to be intrusive. Knocked again, door swung a little more, and a wave of horrible smell hit us. At this point the door was cracked enough that we could see in. And guess what we saw. A stinkin toilet. So I knocked on a massive outhouse this week. However when we tried the mobile home again later that day, the people were actually home and we have started teaching them! We were super busy this week having lessons with them, their names are Martin and Maria, an older couple that works in the fields. And then we had some lessons with Skyler, and we are just really becoming good buddies, and so he tells us all about his football team and we love talking about sports together. This week we also had some incredible fish tacos. Absolutely lights out. There are more than a few Mexican restaurants on Main Street, and El Huaraches Loco is the champ right now. Loved these so much we had to go twice. This week in my study I loves this verse from Paul's epistle to the Romans: Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Love to hear that we are all so loved. That is what I gave a talk about yesterday in church! I also got to translate Skyler's talk for the Spanish program, so it a super exciting sacrament meeting. Thanks for reading, and have an awesome week! Hope your summer has a great start! Elder Easton
