Tajin is King-October 19, 2020

McClain Easton Mon, Oct 19, 2020, 3:54 PM to me I have good news. For everyone who does not know what Tajin is, prepare to have your life changed. For everyone who does, you should be more vocal about it because people need this stuff in their life. Tajin is a spice blend of lime, chili, and salt, and it is perfect. I have put it on literally everything I have had to eat the last week, ranging from oats, to eggs, to vegetables, to chicken tacos and everywhere in between. When people say bacon makes everything better, they secretly mean Tajin. Anyways, for everyone who does not care to make their life better... This week is the first week of being in the field! For everyone who does not know, that means that I have left the at home MTC, and am now living in Santa Clarita, CA, which is apart of the Bakersfield mission. I'm serving in the Spanish speaking branch, and getting a ton of opportunities to speak the language with locals, members, and people we contact. We do a lot of working with members, but we also have some really exciting opportunities with investigators as well. This week we went to the home of a family in our branch to teach a lesson, and ended up watching their security tapes for the first half hour of being there. The amazon delivery man left the package on the driveway instead of the porch, and they talked our ear off about it showing us the footage of the delivery man. It was like watching highlights on ESPN, except instead of the NBA, we watched a postal service employee casually walk ten steps. He made it look easy. This first week as a missionary has had its difficult points after leaving my family, but I am incredibly grateful to be here! Last night, we knocked a door of a former investigator, someone the missionaries had talked with but lost contact with in the past, and scheduled an appointment for this week. As we were leaving, his mom stepped out of the door and asked us to come back for dinner tonight. This was a small miracle, as they were so excited to hear our message! Opportunities like these remind me why I am on a mission, to share a message of joy and hope with those that want to hear it! And we won't be having our typical dinner of brown rice and chicken, which is another score. This week I read in Mormon 8, and loved verse 12 which says: And whoso receiveth athis record, and shall not condemn it because of the imperfections which are in it, the same shall know of bgreater things than these. Behold, I am Moroni; and were it possible, I would make all things known unto you. Reading this made me feel like Moroni was personally talking to me and bearing his witness of the truthfulness, like I was having a conversation with him face to face. We often think that the prophets and authors of the scriptures were larger than life, but in reality, they were people striving to be more like Christ each day, something we can really relate with. Thanks for all the support, I love to hear from everyone! -Elder Easton (mcclain.easton@missionary.org) 1. Fried plantains from a member one of my favorite treats! 2. Morning Run 3. The whole fam
