Gratitude for my Mom-November 25, 2020

McClain Easton Wed, Nov 25, 2020, 11:10 PM to me Dear mom, As you know, this week we have been asked to write a letter of gratitude to someone we are thankful for everyday. Today I have chosen you, because you are the person I am most grateful for in the entire world. A memory that came to my mind this week was a day long ago, when I was in 4th grade, and I remember coming home from a field trip and feeling really sick. You had made peanut butter power balls, and like you always have, you talked with me and cheered me up. Its a small memory, and I don't remember many of the details, but I do remember how you made me feel. That day, and everyday since, you have shown me more love than I can fathom. As I have grown up, I have often spent time resenting your efforts to direct my life, and for that I am forever sorry! I wish so badly that I could go back and tell myself that you know best, because you do! Even when I was rude, forgetful, ignorant, or disobedient, you always patiently waited for me, with a love untainted by the worst of my actions. You were there for me at every high school dance, every basketball game, every tennis match, every piano recital that I suffered through, every date, every test, every friend, and now you are there for me pushing me to be better as I face the hardest challenge I have yet seen. You are the one I can talk to, and the one that inspires me to endure the hardships I face, to keep pressing through the refiners fire, and to become more like my Savior. I wish nothing more than to spend my life acquiring all the traits you so naturally have, and demonstrate constantly as a loving an caring mother. I will never sufficiently repay you for all you have done for me. I can only offer humbly my most sincere gratitude. You are and have always been a beacon of light in my life, a reminder of my Savior, and a remarkable mother. I love you mom. McClain
