Week 3- Half Way through MTC-September 16, 2020

Wed, Sep 16, 2020, 7:41 PM to me Hey everyone! This week marks the halfway point through the at home MTC, so pretty soon here I will be headed out the Bakersfield to begin my service in the field. Hopefully the fires will be contained within the next few months so I don't have to worry about any more changes! Either way, really looking forward to entering the field. The home MTC has been really good this week! I'm really enjoying the times I'm spending with my district as well as with my family every day. It's definitely a relief when I get to speak in English with them after a long day and don't have to pause before every sentence. I have posted a handful of things in Spanish on my facebook tho so if you wanna see how its coming head over there. Most of the time I write out a post I'll google translate it back to English just to make sure I haven't messed anything up to badly, so if you actually know Spanish, maybe wait a few more weeks to give it a look. Not a whole lot to say for this week, but want to share a few short scriptures. A big part of serving a successful mission is having the willingness to place God's will, and his plan, above all else. This week I was reading in Mosiah (in the book of Mormon) Chapter 15. I really liked these two verses: 5:And thus the flesh becoming subject to the Spirit, or the Son to the Father, being one God, asuffereth temptation, and yieldeth not to the temptation, but suffereth himself to be mocked, and bscourged, and cast out, and disowned by his cpeople. 7:Yea, even so he shall be led, acrucified, and slain, the bflesh becoming subject even unto death, the cwill of the Son being swallowed up in the will of the Father. I think these are a great reminder that Christ wholeheartedly accepted the will of his father throughout his life, ultimately atoning and dying for our sins, and that like he faced difficulties, we may also face trials. Through it all, we need to remember that he has a plan for us, and if we allow his power and influence to enter our life, we can be blessed. Have a great week! Thanks for reading! Elder Easton
